Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. It is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet with specific thumb and hand techniques without the use of oils, lotions, or tools. Reflexology is a holistic non invasive therapy that compliments other therapies. Reflexology is a very ancient method of helping the body to normalize. It dates back as early as 2330 B.C. by Egyptian cultures. Today's method is based on the research of Zone Theory developed by Dr. William Fitzgerald. Eunice Ingham took this theory and developed techniques into what we know as Reflexology today (Ingham Method).
